Children who have not attended lessons within the last two sessions will need to be evaluated during open or family swim time prior to enrollment. Each participant may register for only ONE of the classes listed with the exception of Swim Team.

Minnie Minnows

30-minute structured class
Ages: 6 months-3 years
Members: $19 / Non-Members: $45
Monday 10-10:30 am; Friday: 5-5:30 pm
Minimum: 5 / Maximum: 13

This is a structured parent/child class. Emphasis is on water adjustment. Basic skills include kicking, blowing bubbles, bobs and jumping. PARENT REQUIRED TO BE IN THE WATER.

Nemos

30-minute structured class
Ages: 3-6 years
Members: $19 / Non-Members: $45
Monday: 6-6:30 pm; Tuesday: 9:30-10 am; Wednesday: 10-10:30 am; Thursday: 9-9:30 am OR 9:30-10 am; Friday: 10:30-11 am; Saturday: 8:30-9 OR 9-9:30 am
Minimum: 3 / Maximum 4

Introduction to swimming. Swimmers will learn basic skills such as kicking, reach and pull, bubbles, water entry and exit, and jumping. This class is geared for first time swimmers who may be nervous about the water.

Squids

30-minute structured class
Ages: 3-6 years

Monday: 10:30-11 am; Wednesday: 10:30-11 am OR 5:00-5:30 pm; Thursday: 10-10:30 am; Friday: 10-10:30 am; Saturday: 9-9:30 am
Minimum: 4 / Maximum: 6

Introduction to beginner stroke and water adjustment, floating and flutter kicking on back. Swimmer must be comfortable in the water.

Star Fish

30-minute structured class
Ages: 3-6 years
Members: $19 / Non-Members: $45
Tuesday: 10-10:30 am OR 6:15-6:45 pm; Wednesday: 5:30-6 pm; Saturday: 8:30-9 OR 9:30-10 am
Minimum: 4 / Maximum: 6

Swimmers will continue to work on skills learned by the Squids. Emphasis will be put on completing tasks without instructors support. Must have passed the Squids or be able to submerge and float on back.

Sea Horses

30-minute structured class
Ages: 4-6 years
Members: $19 / Non-Members: $45
Tuesday: 6-6:30 pm; Wednesday: 6-6:30 pm; Saturday: 9:30-10 am
Minimum 4: – Maximum: 6

Children must be comfortable in water and able to float on front and back without support. Swimmers will learn breathing techniques, arm to breathing coordination and diving.

Stingrays

45-minute structured class
Ages: 6 years & up
Members: $26 / Non-Members: $63
Monday: 6-6:45 pm; Wednesday: 4:15-5 pm; Friday: 6:30-6:45 pm;
Minimum: 5 / Maximum: 8

Must be willing to submerge under water and be water ready. Swimmers will learn beginning freestyle, sculling, diving, backstroke and intro to treading water.

Barracudas

45-minute structured class
Ages: 6 years & up
Members: $26 / Non-Members: $63
Thursday: 6-6:45 pm; Friday: 6-6:45 pm
Minimum: 5 / Maximum: 8

Must have passed the Stingrays or is able to perform the Stingrays skills. Swimmers will learn new kicks, sidestroke, elementary backstroke as well as work on sculling, backstroke and freestyle.

Clark Sharks Swim Team

Will Resume in the Fall
4-1/2 hours/week
Ages: 5 years & up
Membership Required: $121 per session, or $54 per month EFT
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 4:30–6 pm

The Clark Sharks is a recreational swim team that places an emphasis on learning and achievement by working hard and swimming past your goals. Swimmers will work on stroke technique as well as competitive swimming techniques. Swim Team is open to children ages 5 – 18 who can swim one length of the pool (25 yards) non stop. Try one week free!

Monday: 6:45-7:30 pm; Thursday: 6:45-7:30 pm; Saturday: 11:00 am-12:00 pm

Children age 6 and under are not allowed to swim without an adult or parent in the water. Sorry, no exceptions, regardless of swimming ability.

Family Swim*

60-minute swim time
Members: FREE, Non-Members: Daily fee
Friday 6:45-7:30 pm; Sunday: 11 am-12 noon

Children ages 17 and under are not allowed to swim without an adult or parent in the water, regardless of swimmers ability. For every three children ages 10 and under there must be one adult in the water.

This time is reserved for adults to swim laps.

Adult Beginner

This course is designed for the adult who would like to become more comfortable in and around the water. Perfect for the adult who may have fear of deep water! Basic skills will be taught such as floating and beginner stroke. The first class will be devoted to understanding fears and setting realistic and reachable goals. You will not be in the water for the first class.

United States Masters Swimming

Self-training: Saturday & Sunday: 10–11 am and Monday & Friday: 7:30–8:30 pm
Coached workout: Wednesday 7:30–8:30 pm

United States Masters Swimming (USMS) is a national organization that provides organized workouts, competitions, clinics and workshops for adults age 18 and over. Programs are open to all adult swimmers (fitness, triathlete, competitive, non-competitive) who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming.

American Red Cross Aquatics Training

Instructor Peter Cutting is the leading lifeguard instructors in the North Central Massachusetts Area. They have years of experience training lifeguards for all types of employment areas. Most guards that complete their course go on to work for the State at local pools and waterfronts. The Clark YMCA has quickly become the PREMIER LIFEGUARD TRAINING FACILITY in all of North Central Massachusetts. Peter works closely with the Central MA Chapter of the Red Cross to continue being the leader in Aquatics Training for this area. Course space is limited. Registration is on a first come first served basis. Register today!

Are you 15 or older and looking for a great summer job or a challenging career? American Red Cross Lifeguarding is the best place to start! Lifeguarding puts you in an exciting position, working as part of a team to help people safely enjoy the water. You could save a life too! Lifeguarding will help you develop skills and experience that will be valued by colleges and future employers. It’s a great way to demonstrate what you can offer. Colleges and employers look for applicants who can deal effectively with people, who have a take charge attitude and who are willing to work to develop new skills. Participants must attend every class.

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
Sundays: May 4, 11, 18 & 25; 10 am- 5 pm

The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course provides instructor candidates the training needed to teach courses in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress. Participants must attend every class.

Lifeguard Instructor Course
Sundays: April 6, 13, 20 & 27; 10 am - 5 pm

This course is designed for the individual that would like to teach Lifeguard courses as outlined by the American Red Cross. This course is perfect for Aquatic Supervisors, Head Guards or current lifeguards looking to advance in Aquatics. For more information on this course please contact Jim Hunt.
