WINTER 2 2012 SCHEDULE
YouthFit
Welcome to the new YouthFIT program at the Clark Memorial YMCA! With today's growing concerns about young peoples'
health issues, YouthFIT has been developed to provide our community's youth more opportunities to make better
decisions about their well-being. The first phase of this program is designed for youth ages 10-12 and will
incorporate traditional and non-traditional physical activities, personal training, group exercise, and
provide nutritional information for participants. This program will soon be offered to all youth ages 10-16.
YouthFIT has been made possible by a generous grant through The Healtth Foundation of Central Massachusetts.
Times: Monday-Friday, 3:30 - 5:30 pm.
CHILDWATCH
M-F: 9-10:15 am, 10:15-11:30 am
T, TH: 5:15-6:30 pm, 6:30-7:45 pm
This service may be utilized while parents participate in
fitness classes or exercise in the facility. This program is
staffed by trained volunteers. Registration is available 48
hours in advance. Space is limited so register in advance.
FITNESS ORIENTATION
Orientation is designed to familiarize you with exercise
equipment available at the Y. Our professional fitness staff
will teach you how to safely and effectively use Cybex, Cardio
and Free Weight equipment. Each member is entitled to one
free orientation.
HEALTH ASSESSMENT (15 minutes)
$5
A fitness specialist will provide valuable information about
your ideal body weight, body fat percentage and provide
suggestions based on your body fat and weight to height
ratio. This is a great way to establish a base line when you
are starting your workout routine as well as great way to
track your progress after you start your workout plan.
PERSONAL TRAINING
$25/hour OR $90 for 4 sessions
Meet with a certified Personal Trainer to discuss personal
fitness goals, fitness level, and health risks to develop a
program customized for you. This One-on-One goal-oriented
session is designed to motivate, while emphasizing proper
technique.
HEALTHY LIVING PROGRAM
$60
The Healthy Living Program promotes a healthy lifestyle through
proper nutrition and exercise habits. Fitness professionals
offer guidance while individuals challenge each other to lose
weight through safe, healthy, recommended methods to achieve
group and individual goals. Fee includes: presentations, a
health assessment (see description); a private personal training
session, weekly check-ups with fitness staff; a program Tshirt;
and a free gift.

AQUAEROBICS (1 hour)
M, W, F: 8:30 am with Jackie and Cherie
T, TH: 6:30 pm with Jennifer
This class offers the ultimate in no impact cardiovascular
work. By working against the resistance of the water,
you can achieve both strength conditioning as well as the
benefits of a high impact workout. No swimming skills
required!
YOGA (45 min)
T, TH: 7:30 with Shauna now only 45 minutes!
This class uses traditional Yoga poses to emphasize the
blending of spirit, mind and body. This no-impact class is
appropriate for all ages and fitness levels for a stronger,
healthier, more balanced you.

ZUMBA

TH: 10:30 am with Grace
Ditch the workout, join the Party! This fitness class features
a fusion of Latin and International music with exciting cardio
interval dance routines designed to tone and sculpt the body.
No prior dance experience is necessary!
GROUP CYCLING
T & TH: 6 am with Veronika
Group Cycling consists of 45-50 minutes of riding time and
15 minutes preparing, stretching, etc. Bikes allow the rider
to go from easy riding to climbing hills, doing intervals or
spinning out. The instructor will provides tips on how to
set, adjust and maintain the bikes as well as proper riding
technique to prevent discomfort and maximize your workout.

PILATES
F: 6:15 am with Veronika
M, W: 5:30 pm with Jenn
This challenging class offers exercises that concentrate on
strengthening and lengthening all muscles while focusing
on the core (mid-section) to help stabilize the body
and improve posture. Progress at your own pace while
instructor provides modifications and introduces new
exercises at each class. Elastic bands, stability balls and
body weight are all utilized.
STRENGTH CONDITIONING
T, TH: 9:15 am with Jenn
A popular alternative to the Weight Room, this class
addresses muscular strength and endurance, increased
flexibility and overall improvement in posture. Elastic bands,
stability balls, weight bars, hand weights and body weight
are all utilized to get your muscles burning.
ZUMBA (PLUS TONING)
T, TH: 6:30 with Mary Lee
This class gives traditional toning a new spin by setting light
weight training to rhythm for a fun and effective workout. The
exercises are set to Latin dance and Hip-hop hits. Sculpt your
body and have a blast doing it!

ZUMBATONIC
T: 4:30-5:00 (ages 4-7) with Laurie
TH: 4:30-5:15 (ages 8-12) with Laurie
It's time to make fitness a family affair with Zumbatomic®! Zumbatomic® classes are rockin',
high-energy fitness parties packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines and all the
music kids love to groove to in a group, like hip-hop, reggaeton, cumbia and more. Parents love Zumbatomic®
because of the effects it has on kids, increasing their focus and self-confidence, boosting metabolism
and enhancing coordination. Zumbatomic® rounds out family fitness goals by giving parents a great
reason to head to the gym for themselves, for their kids, for a totally fun family experience.
