Now offering two seperate morning times and two separate evening times, this service may be utilized while the parent participates in our fitness classes or exercises in the fitness center. This program is staffed by screened volunteers. Thorough background checks have been conducted and policies and procedures have been put in place. Sign-ups will be available 48 hours prior to each baby-sitting session. Space is limited and reservations are required.

Parent must be a member and child's info must be on file at the front desk.

BABYSITTING ROOM POLICIES (FOR PARENTS)

Effective May 15: Babysitting is non-refundable. If you have signed up and are unable to make it, your money will be forfeited.

Parents may not leave the building while their child is in care. Babysitting is not a licensed child care program. A child may stay in the room for a maximum of 2.5 hours each visit.

The cost is $2.00 per visit.

Reservation can't be made more than 48 hours in advance. Please call to cancel reservation if your plans change so we may serve others.

Children having difficulty with separation may want to limit their stay the first few times. If a child continues to cry for a length of time (more than 10 minutes), the parent will be notified and required to pick up their child.

Children who are sick (i.e., continual cough, runny nose, conjunctivitis, or any other contagious illness) are not allowed in the babysitting room. Staff will be allowed to use their discretion in refusing sick children. This is to protect the staff and other children in the program.

All children's items must be labeled and we strongly encourage parents not to allow children to bring in toys from home.

Be sure all children in the babysitting room are signed in on the clipboard.

Behavior issues will be addressed and may result in your child no longer being accepted for care.

We are always looking to upgrade our toy and art supplies. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Please remember that this program runs solely on volunteers and we are always in search of quality individuals to volunteer at the Clark Memorial YMCA. If you are interested in volunteering, please call Veronika Patty at the Clark Memorial YMCA at (978) 297-0869. There may be times when the babysitting room will be closed due to the lack of volunteers.
